HIFF Internship Program

HIFF internships offer opportunities to gain a broad range of work experiences in film festivals. HIFF interns work closely with festival staff to plan, coordinate, and implement special events, educational programs, and film screenings.

While internships are unpaid, festival staff will work with interns to gain school credit for work performed. HIFF requires a commitment of 15 to 40 hours per week and a set work schedule. Access to a car is preferred.

INTERN Staff Positions

Operations Intern
Assist with Theater Operations, Program Guide, User Guides, Festival Staffing, Film Screenings.

Volunteer Coordinator
Find and recruit volunteers, assist in making schedules with operations, working with the staff to make sure everything is being taken care of.

Outreach/Communications Intern
Assist with marketing, public relations and promotions efforts for festival programs. Editing and writing skills required. Assist in making the final Media Report.

Design/Graphics Intern
Assist with in-house design and layout of printed materials (postcards, brochures, flyers, and program guide). Please provide a portfolio.

Special Events/Seminars Intern
Help execute production of festival programs and special events. Coordinate logistics with sites, vendors, and sponsors.

Development Intern
Coordinate in-kind donation program. Assist in fulfilling sponsor benefits. Hosting sponsors.

Travel and Hospitality Intern
Working with the coordinator staffing the delegate suite, making airport pick ups, airport drop offs, staffing the ticket desk here at Dole, and making sure delegate and taken care of when they get to Hawaii.

All internships are unpaid. HIFF does give credit for internships. Interns will also receive credit in the festival publication and can see films for free!

Must live on Oahu.
