Please do a better job next year on the PR! Some locally made and locally produced films were snubbed while foreign artsy films were glamorized. How about showing some support for your Ohana and celebrating all the work done by local artists and talent?
Disappointingly, the film festival has become too focused on Asian films in recent years -- where are the European offerings? Last I looked, this was not the Hawaii Asian Film Festival. The entire purpose is to present a diverse selection of films, and I would welcome more films from France, Germany, Denmark, etc.
your 'hospitality' staff seem to be more interested in themselves then the delegates and people spending the money to support the festival. please train them to be more professional.
I enjoyed the films that I saw and really enjoyed the festival as a whole. I still would like to see more of a representation of various countries. One or two for some countries outside of Asia/Oceania may not be enough...
I understand that prices (in general) have gone up, however, I have noticed that much less people have attended this year than the previous year(s), especially the younger crowd . . .
This year was a good festival year...Loved exotic film offerings from places like Afghanistan which we don't get to see often enough. Keep up the good work. Next year will even be better. Mahalo
