HIFF favorite director Shinobu Yaguchi (WATERBOYS, WOOD JOB!, SURVIVAL FAMILY) is back with one of the funniest and most original hits of the year! Shizuka (Ayaka Miyoshi) is an overworked salary woman at a big Tokyo firm who has dedicated her life to her job and seriously dislikes musicals. One day when co-opted into taking her niece to a local fair they come across a sideshow hypnotist. When her niece requests they hypnotist make her a better singer, Shizuka accidentally falls under the spell! Suddenly whenever she hears music she can’t help but break into song and dance...with catastrophic effect on her work and personal life. 
The only thing that can be done is locate the hypnotist and have him undo the spell. However, the scheming hypnotist has vanished. With the help of an unlikely friend, Shizuka embarks on a comedic, music-filled roadtrip across Japan to find him. A sort of BIG meets LA LA LAND, CAN’T STOP THE DANCING is a riotous, light-hearted musical road movie that will have you bouncing in your seat.
