First feature

Set in the not-to-distant future, two intergalactic hunters are tracking down a spaceship trying to free itself. After taking it down, they witness a mystical phenomenon--a literal “ghost in the machine”--with what looks like the soul of a young woman emerging out of hardware. Trying to understand the nature of this entity, they start chasing the woman through space, where it leads them to someplace akin to Kubrick if through the artistry of Moebius in the Franco-Belgian bandes dessinées tradition.

BLOOD MACHINES is a smorgasbord of ‘80s inspired science-fiction, a visual fantasia acid mind trip of a film, written and directed by Seth Ickerman and scored by the synth-wave artist Carpenter Brut. Imagine STRANGER THINGS, KUNG FURY, THE ICE PIRATES and Boris Vallejo erotic sci-fi covers for Heavy Metal with a rocking soundtrack with antecedents of Goblin and Vangelis. With this in mind, only then will you fully ingest the sensory overload on the big screen. It hits all the right nostalgic feels in the world building tales stored within the confines of that musty comic book shop you used to frequent as a kid.

Like its cult-favorite progenitor KUNG FURY, the film is also a DIY Kickstarter funded project. The result is some of the most amazing visual effects and art design you’ll see this year that needs to be seen on the big screen.
