“We heard the howl of the Australian dream, and it said to us again: you’re not welcome.”
In 2013, Aboriginal Australian footballer Adam Goodes -- one of the greatest players to ever play the game -- called out an audience member of the crowd who called him an ape and had her ejected from the stadium. In 2014, he was named Australian of the Year for fighting against racism. In 2015, his football career ended with the howls and booing of the crowd. The controversy surrounding Goodes’ story sparked national debate over the state of racism in Australia, and brought to the surface centuries of violence persecution committed against Indigenous Australians.

Written and narrated by former CNN correspondent Stan Grant -- whose viral 2015 speech has been called Australia’s Martin Luther King moment -- THE AUSTRALIAN DREAM is an rousing challenge to the racism that beats at the heart of all colonial histories.
“...emotive, inspiring and argumentative, driven by a clear desire for justice and equality.” - The Guardian
