A LIFE IN PIECES: THE DIARY AND LETTERS OF STANLEY HAYAMI

This experience will be FREE to the public and will be available in-person at the Entrepreneurs Sandbox NOV 20 & 21 from 12:00PM – 6:00PM. Visitors are REQUIRED to register in advance for a time-slot to participate. Registration will open soon. Check back here, or on the HIFF XR page.

This VR film brings to life the wartime diary of Stanley Hayami, a Japanese-American teenager imprisoned with his family during WWII at the Heart Mountain camp in Wyoming. Stanley’s writings and drawings literally come alive using live-action characters, Quill 3D animation, and photogrammetry of real barracks. Viewers are invited to actually enter the rugged living conditions where the Hayami family lived as we hear Stanley describe with poignant optimism the difficult reality he faces imprisoned behind barbed wire.
