Moderated by Vernadette Gonzalez, Professor of American Studies at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa.

About Deann Borshay Liem

Deann Borshay Liem is an award-winning documentarian known for her landmark adoption films, FIRST PERSON PLURAL, IN THE MATTER OF CHA JUNG HEE and GEOGRAPHIES OF KINSHIP, as well as films that explore the legacies of the Korean War, including MEMORY OF FORGOTTEN WAR. She is the recipient of the Women, Peace and Security Fellowship from San Francisco Film Society for her latest work, CROSSINGS, which will have its’ world premiere at the Hawaii International Film Festival.
