An homage to the 80s and 90s golden age of yakuza films, LAST OF THE WOLVES joins the ranks as a classic cop-versus-gangster flick, but with a fresh take on the glorification of gang leaders. The sequel to BLOOD OF THE WOLVES is set three years after the initial film and Hioka Shuichi, a maverick detective, has been implementing his slain partner’s plan to finally end the gang wars between the Odani and Itako factions and prevent further bloodshed in the community. But Shuichi soon learns that his desire to maintain peace cannot withstand.
After a sinister criminal named Uebayashi Shigehiro, a former member of the Itako gang, is released from prison, Shuichi’s work begins to unravel. Shigehiro is out for revenge, attempting to avenge his now-dead boss’ death, and willing to go to any extreme to end Shuichi’s bid for peace and achieve his goals. But when Shuichi forces a Korean immigrant to infiltrate Shigehiro’s gang, all hell breaks loose. LAST OF THE WOLVES is an epic crime-thriller, underscoring that peace comes with a price.
