Hawai‘i International Film Festival (HIFF) is proud to present in-flight programming to celebrate and showcase Hawai’i’s filmmakers and locally produced short films in partnership with Hawaiian Airlines.
The HIFF-Hawaiian Airlines in flight program launched in 2018 and is available for free on over 120 transpacific Hawaiian Airlines flights, across 22 destinations. Hawaiian Airlines guests have exclusive access to complimentary short films featuring authentic and entertaining Hawai’i stories that capture the depth and richness of Hawai‘i’s culture, all in one entertaining in-flight experience. HIFF’s in-flight program spotlights the diversity of the islands, and runs the breadth of genres that are showcased at the Festival.
The winner of the annual HIFF Made in Hawai‘i Short Film Award presented by the Hawai‘i Film Office automatically qualifies, and other short films are curated by HIFF’s programming team. The HIFF & Hawaiian Airlines Made-in-Hawai‘i program showcases to audiences across the globe the best local voices, and creates a larger platform for Pacific Islander filmmakers to share their stories. With such increased access to these films, this opportunity inspires and empowers our talented community to continue to create, innovate, and push the boundaries of what the Hawaii film industry has to offer.

As of 2024, HIFF has showcased 60 HIFF Made in Hawai‘i films on Hawaiian Airlines transpacific flights
