More than a Festival
The Hawai‘i International Film Festival has championed the arts, elevated local creators, and provided a premier experience in global cinema for the Hawai‘i community for 44 years. Beyond the Festival, HIFF’s year-round industry initiatives nurture, invest in, and build Hawai‘i’s talent pool. HIFF’s free education initiatives serve to inspire and connect student storytellers from kindergarten through college on all islands.
As is the case with most arts + culture-focused film festivals around the world, less than a quarter of HIFF’s revenue is generated from ticket sales. Our priority is to keep prices accessible for our audiences. We rely on memberships, sponsorships, grants, and generous donations.
