QUEZON
QUEZON continues TBA Studios’ acclaimed “Bayaniverse,” the cinematic universe that brought Philippine history to life in the box office hits HENERAL LUNA (2015) and GOYO: ANG BATANG HENERAL (2018). This sweeping historical drama chronicles the rise of Manuel L. Quezon (Jericho Rosales, in his highly anticipated return to Philippine cinema), the lawyer, soldier, and statesman who would become the President of the Commonwealth of the Philippines from 1935 to 1944.
The film captures Quezon’s tumultuous presidential campaign, pitting him against former president and revolutionary general Emilio Aguinaldo (Mon Confiado, reprising his role from the previous films), while also tracing his long fight for full independence from the United States. Benjamin Alves portrays the younger Quezon, connecting the film to the earlier installments, while internationally renowned actor Iain Glen (GAME OF THRONES, SILO) stars as Leonard Wood, the U.S. Governor-General whose complex relationship with Quezon shaped the struggle for sovereignty.
Epic in scope yet intimate in focus, QUEZON dramatizes a pivotal moment in Philippine history, blending political intrigue, personal sacrifice, and the fight for nationhood.
