GATH & K’IYH: LISTEN TO HEAL

We’ll take a deep dive into cultural representation and collaboration in the creation of MOANA throughout the process. From early research trips that helped create ongoing relationships with storytellers, elders and master navigators from the Pacific islands, through the process of casting the movie and finding the right musical team, all the way to the post release ‘ripples’ of MOANA – like the Tahitian, Maori and Hawaiian translations created for the schools – we’ll explore the lasting impact the film has had on the filmmakers, on Disney, and on the Pasifika community.
