THE GREAT MAHELE

This student film presents a historical argument about how The Great Mahele changed land ownership in Hawaii and how Hawaiians thought about private property. Through research and discovery of a personal connection to this important event in history, we learn of a perspective from a native hawaiian youth. This part of history may not be known by many, but has a hug impact on Hawaiians, as well as on the past, present, and future of her family's land.
