HIFILM Storytellers Lab (HSL) is an exclusive retreat supporting filmmakers and writers in developing short screenplays from original Hawai’i literary works including books, plays, short stories, poems, and mo’olelo. Participants will refine their scripts through mentorship, peer feedback, and intensive development, culminating in a table read with professional actors. By bridging literature and film, HSL empowers local talent and elevates Hawaii’s stories for the international stage.

All HIFILM members are invited to apply to the HSL retreat with their story ideas for initial development.
