The popular sports underdog trope–from COOL RUNNINGS to THE MIGHTY DUCKS–is updated to include the world of esports in this all-ages film set in Manila and Hong Kong. Hazel, an employee at an internet cafe who’s a fan of Project Xandata (a real first-person shooter made in the Philippines) gets the attention of a pro team founder when Hazel beats her team single handedly in one night. Hazel’s game play goes viral, making her an instant sensation with the online gaming community. The pro team founder invites Hazel to live and train at the team’s gaming house, with the promise of turning her into a professional esports player. At first, Hazel finds it hard to adjust to the rigorous training and the dynamics of the team. And complications arise when the team must train for their biggest tournament yet, the Project Xanadu Grand Prix in Hong Kong…Will she rise to the challenge?
