A SONG FOR NICHOLAS

genres:

“A Song for Nicholas” showcases the healing power of ʻohana. When Nicholasʻs family, the Coneys, were informed of the special care he would need to live, the community rallied to their aid. After meeting baby Nicholas, Hawaiian musician and filmmaker Eddie Kamae felt compelled to produce an original song for Nicholas, called “Baby Days”. The song written by Eddie and his lyricist friend Jay Larrin was first played by Eddie and his band The Sons of Hawaiʻi at a special fundraiser at Kilauea Lodge. Over the years, Eddie would meet Nicholas and his family, encouraging him to carry on with his musical talent. Eddie was convinced that his story would inspire others. A Song for Nicholas encourages others to hoʻomau through difficult times by looking at the happiness all around them.
