Honolulu Film Office presents the inaugural PRODUCERS-IN-RESIDENCE program as part of HIFFs educational and career development initiatives in support of Hawaii’s film & tv industry. HIFF is proud to present award-winning Ram Bergman as the inaugural HIFF Producer-in-Residence. Bergman has produced dozens of acclaimed film and TV projects that have been released to global audiences over a 30 year career. Bergman is best known for producing films BRICK (2005), THE BROTHERS BLOOM (2008), LOOPER (2012), STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI (2017), AND KNIVES OUT (2019), GLASS ONION: A KNIVES OUT MYSTERY (2022), all of which were written and directed by Rian Johnson, his business partner. Bergman received an Achievement in Film Award at the 2018 Israel Film Festival and was nominated for Outstanding Producer of Theatrical Motion Pictures for KNIVES OUT at the 2020 Producers Guild of America Awards. AMERICAN FICTION, which he served as executive producer, recently world premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival, where it won the highly coveted Audience Award.
