KA PŌ

In the mountains of Kauai, a drug addicted native Hawaiian woman, Nanea, 22, is living with her troubled boyfriend, Eli. Estranged from her father, and on the night of her mother’s funeral, Nanea reaches a breaking point and destroys Eli’s possessions, sending him into a bitter rage. Nanea flees into the surrounding forest, escaping into midnight.

Now on the run, she suffers from drug withdrawals and encounters a mythical creature named Yahdella who sends her on a soul-searching journey. Deep in the forest, Nanea hears the voices of her ancestor’s call, guiding her to an ancient waterfall. The pure water offers salvation, but she soon realizes Yahdella is more like her than she ever imagined..
