WHO’LL STOP THE RAIN

青春並不溫柔

In 1994, Taiwanese students were in the midst of a protest. Chi-wei, a female college student joins the strike to fight for their freedom of expression. During the protest, Chi-wei is slowly attracted to Ching, whose boyfriend Kuang is the student strike leader. As passionate protest enflames personal desires, both the strike and their triangle relationship becomes wild and vibrant. Eventually, Chi-wei realizes that her desire and emotion are as unconstrained as their creative freedom. For her, it''s not only a protest for freedom but also an inner fight for her self-awakening. This affecting drama explores LGBTQ+ themes under a patriarchal society and the power and love struggles that are closely intertwined. WHO''LL STOP THE RAIN received awards and nominations at various film festivals, including the Taipei Film Festival, the Taipei Golden Horse Film Festival, the Tokyo International Film Festival, and the International Film Festival Rotterdam.
