Navigating the New Hollywood: TV Writers in a Changing Industry
The entertainment industry is undergoing a seismic shift. In a post-pandemic, post-strike, post-DEI and the ongoing consolidation of media companies, TV writers face unique challenges and opportunities in an increasingly fractured landscape. This panel brings together experienced and emerging television writers to discuss how these industry-wide changes are reshaping career paths, storytelling opportunities, and representation. From shrinking development slates to evolving streaming models and the push for more authentic narratives, our panelists will examine what it means to navigate the fractured landscape today. How can we navigate fewer studio deals, shifting audience demands, and the fight for creative control? What strategies can help sustain careers in an uncertain market?
All HIFILM members are invited to attend this virtual event moderated by HIFF Artistic Director, Anderson Le and featuring panelist Oanh Ly, Bryson Chun, and Nic Wegener.
