INIA IKIAMPRI (OUR JUNGLE)

The Achuar are Indigenous peoples of the Amazon Basin. The Achuar inhabit 88 communities across nearly 2 million acres of ancestral territory in what’s known today as Ecuador. Since Catholic missionaries contacted Achuar in the early 1960’s, they have been able to persevere to maintain their language and culture, as well as protect much of their territory. This short documentary follows a day in the life of Achuar families who live in the ancestral village of Kapawi and explores a people at the intersection of Indigenous vitality and modern reality.
