EL SOÑADOR (THE DREAMER)

Oscar and his family fled Mexico and came to the United States in search of a better life. After settling in North Carolina, they faced a new set of challenges and roadblocks from systemic racism to immigration paperwork. Oscar was able to acquire immigration protection through DACA, where he went on to achieve his lifelong dream of reaching higher education. The film offers a new perspective on what it is like to grow up as an undocumented person, told through the backdrop of the American South.
