Kyeong-soo (Ryoo Joon-yeol) is a blind acupuncturist. He is unable to see anything during the daytime, but, strangely, he is able to see like a normal person in the dark. When Kyeong-soo wins a position with the royal court physicians, he believes his fate is turning for the better. But when one evening, Kyeong-soo happens to witness the death of the Crown Prince So-hyeon, all is not what it seems. As the death leads King Injo (Yu Hae-jin) into madness, Kyeong-soo attempts to reveal the truth, risking his own life in the process. Set in Joseon during the Qing Dynasty, THE NIGHT OWL is a fictional tale based upon the real Crown Prince So-hyeon who died suddenly upon his return from Qing, and was believed to be poisoned. The first feature of director An Tae-jin, this historical suspense drama was one of the biggest Korean box office hits of 2022.
